The right technology tools are needed in any business but they can be very costly for smaller companies. One way companies can manage this expense is by allowing employees to “bring your own device” or (BYOD).

This new trend allows mobile employees to use their personal mobile devices to access the company network and unified communications solutions to make or receive calls and email, check voicemail and view the presence information of colleagues. However, some business hesitate to make the switch to BYOD because of concerns about security — a fear that can be minimized with the right management, as explained by Warwick’s Brian Yeary in an interview with Jayne Gest of Smart Business News entitled, “BYOD: How to Limit the Security Risks of Bring Your Own Device.”
