Position Summary:

A Business Development Rep works as the tip of the spear identifying and driving business to our company. BDR’s are in charge of generating new client interest through targeted approaches via email, phone, networking and referrals. Often they design and implement strategies to convert prospective clients utilizing our companies assets to accommodate both parties best. Advancement to Account Executive and then onto Sales Manager is a common succession plan goal.

A Business Development Rep will usually have a degree from an accredited college in business, sales, marketing, communications or a related field. Most universities and colleges have well-defined business and or sales programs. Advanced education in business is preferred for positions with more seniority. The job relies heavily on the ability to communicate over the phone and in person. Having strong communication skills, solid interpersonal ability plus a willingness to drive results is a must in this field.

We are looking for the Business Development Rep to act as a liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting potential clients and setting discovery appointments for our Account Executives.

When expertly performed on a consistent basis, new leads and opportunities are expediently directed to our current sales professionals to close and new business relationships are founded.

Ultimately, the BDR will boost sales and directly contribute to our long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish contact with new business opportunities via various prospecting activities
2. Contact potential clients through phone calls, emails, networking. tradeshows and referrals
3. Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
4. Analyze market reports to determine where to seek out new business
5. Generate and deliver engaging presentations and conversations
6. Exhibit and articulate our competitive position in the marketplace
7. Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
8. Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
9. Report to the VP of Growth (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results vs. targets
10. Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, communications or related field (preferred)
2. Lead generation experience preferred, but not required
3. Excellent interpersonal capability – Must be a great teammate
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to prioritize different projects and stay on schedule
6. Goal driven and task oriented
7. The ability to execute work plans and expectations with little to no supervision
8. Willingness to travel domestically
9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
10. HubSpot CRM experience a plus
11. A valid Driver’s License
12. Ability to pass a mandatory drug and background screening
