Chief Information Security Officer
Dan Banick is Chief Information Security Officer at Warwick Communications where he is responsible for internal IT risk strategy and leads the organizations information security services practice. Joining the organization in early 2019, Dan has become an advocate for the design and adoption of risk-based security programs tailored specifically for Warwick customers.
With over 25 years of IT experience ranging from mainframe systems management and cloud-based solutions architecture to cyber security incident response, Dan has led IT programs and organizations in the U.S., Europe, and India. Specializing in security and compliance for health, financial, manufacturing, and public sector verticals, he has held IT leadership roles in IT operations, software development, and risk management in organizations ranging from large scale enterprises to entrepreneurial start-ups . Prior to joining the Warwick team, Dan led the enterprise IT risk program of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services as Information Security Officer, where he was responsible for dozens of brands serving some of the largest banks in the world. Passionate about supporting growing organizations, Dan returned to the small and medium business arena to provide critical cybersecurity services to customers struggling with today’s threat landscape.
Dan studied Bio-Medical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended the School of Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. This summer he will be participating in Gartner’s Security & Risk Management Summit and BlackHat USA 2019 and he is an active member security and privacy organizations ISACA, IAPP, and ISC2. Born a New Englander and raised a Mid-Westerner, Dan now splits his time between Seattle, Cleveland, and the Florida Keys. Aside from enjoying travel to all corners of the globe, his hobbies include reading, hiking, and searching the dark web for lost data.
