Don’t Put Yourself at Risk by Purchasing 3rd Party Business Phones

Oftentimes, customers think they can save money by purchasing unauthorized business phones from a 3rd party online. While it’s always tempting to buy technology at the lowest price possible, doing so comes with major risks, many of which will cost you down the line.

When you purchase equipment from a 3rd party, you can’t be certain of its origins. The product you are getting may be counterfeit, stolen or used (being sold as “unused”). This could mean that it is missing key components or parts required to ensure the product works correctly. You’ll likely face issues with the equipment much quicker than you would if the product was purchased from an authorized provider.

If for any reason your equipment breaks down or malfunctions, you likely won’t be able to receive support or a replacement. Purchasing from a 3rd party will void the equipment’s warranty forcing you to either fix the product without of pocket funds or replace the equipment entirely.

Unauthorized equipment may include software that is outdated, no longer supported, or even illegal. This can create network vulnerability and expose you to serious security risks. Sometimes, equipment needs to be updated to prevent these risks and unauthorized products may not have the ability to be updated, leaving you out of luck.

Finally, 3rd party equipment is not eligible for trade-in or discount programs that can save you a significant amount of money when you upgrade or replace your system.

The moral of the story is to always purchase your equipment from an authorized provider. What you will receive is up-to-date technology you can trust as well as reliable service and support. Why leave one of your business’ biggest assets, your ability to communicate effectively, up to chance?
